Deadly Errors In Your Mobile SEO

Google rolled out various mobile ranking changes; in future it may affect some non-responsive mobile websites. According to Google, it is essential to deliver the relevant content and satisfy the search results for users.

Here are 5 deadly errors that could hurt your Mobile Search Engine Optimization:

Google says it is a common error for websites that apply user agent detection and redirection to pages on a mobile domain to send users to the wrong URL, such as homepage. It says, user experience will be very poor when you don’t convey a correct page. Google says it is advisable to redirect to the  desktop page instead of an inappropriate page.

404 page errors are really a worst thing, especially shutting mobile users out of content that is available on the desktop is really cruel. It includes inappropriate handling of Google bot-Mobile (sending it to the feature mobile page instead of smartphone, creating an infinite loop of redirects, redirecting to desktop) making the smartphone friendly page itself a 404.

Some videos do not play on the mobile. For that, Google suggests to add HTML5 tags for video, steering clear of formats that are not supported by all smartphones.

The bad linking or irrelevant linking will get your mobile SEO in trouble. Similar to the redirect issue, a common bug is when a site asks the visitors to switch from the mobile version to desktop, and vice versa. If you do so, Google will catch your website and ban it immediately.

Just like on the desktop page, every second on a mobile page is also calculated. Even though the redirection can slow down the page loading speed, responsive sites can be slow if they are not properly optimized.
